Marine Angelfish have stunning body shapes and a wide array of stunning color patterns that make them a favorite for aquarium owners. There are over 80 species of the Pomacanthidae family being distributed between the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Oceans. Angelfish have varieties with lengths up to 24 inches long as well as dwarf angels which will not get bigger than a few inches long. In the wild the larger varieties are loved by divers for their outgoing personalities. Many varieties will nip or eat corals so caution is advised when picking an angel for your home aquarium. Pomacanthidae are broadcast spawners, they release many eggs into the water column where they hatch and grow. Angelfish are wonderful to watch as many varieties have beautiful color patterns and vibrant personalities.
