Marine Fish

Marine fish are aquatic vertebrates that live in saltwater environments. Keeping marine fish has been popular since the mid-fifties when technology to keep marine aquaria alive for a significant period of time was made more readily available. The Romans however, are said to have kept marine fish and invertebrates in glass containers, either in a window or outdoors and would provide them with frequent water changes as the primary form of water detoxification. Marine fish are sensitive to water parameters including salinity, pH and alkalinity. Maintenance of the nitrogen cycle is also imperative in the aquarium. Viewing marine fish can be both relaxing and exhilarating both in nature and captivity.
